Kate Lord Brown

Kate grew up in the wild and beautiful Devon countryside.  After studying at Durham University and the Courtauld Institute of Art, she worked as an international art consultant.  While curating collections for palaces and embassies in Europe and the Middle East, she dreamt of writing full time.

When the family left London to travel the world and move to the orange groves of Valencia, Kate had the chance to write her first novel.

She now lives in Hampshire with her family, and writes a daily column for writers juggling their work with family life.  Kate has written for publications including Conde Nast Traveller, Blueprint and Arts Business Today, and is currently working on her new novel.

ALL THE LOVELY RUINED THINGS

Maya Dumas discovers over the course of a summer that 'love and loss come in equal measure' when she returns home to paint her estranged mother's portrait.  Secrets about her celebrated war photographer father emerge, and Maya's life changes forever as she is drawn back into the world of her peripatetic childhood, rediscovering a love she thought she had lost forever.

Kate's first novel is set in the South of France, New York, London and the remote and beautiful Devon countryside she grew up in.
